I had originally opened a credit card with Citi ( CitiBusiness Platinum Select ). Around XXXX XXXX XX/XX/2021 I had closed my account. In XX/XX/2021 I received a letter in the mail stating that my account had a balance and was going to be sent to collections. I then called again on XX/XX/XXXX and they refused to acknowledge that I had closed the account, claiming that the bank closed it. They also informed me that the resulting balance was from the annual fee + interest + fees all due to that annual fee. There was Zero balance from charges I made. As I had already closed the account before the annually fee, it should not have a balance. I was told to give them XXXX business days when I called on XX/XX/XXXX. I called again on XX/XX/XXXX and was told to give them XXXX business days. I called again on XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX, and each time I'm told to give them XXXX business days. On XX/XX/XXXX I was also told that if I don't pay the current balance of almost {$300.00} by the XXXX I would incur additional fees... all because they refused to close my account when I originally requested. The annual fee is {$99.00}, for it to incur 200 % in fees and interest for an account I had closed is predatory.
