I was made aware of a seemingly erroneous debt that had come up on an apartment screening. When I learned of the debt servicer IQ Data International I attempted to contact them in order to resolve the issue. After they almost coerced me into paying a debt they had yet to verify. I asked for debt verification along with the proof of the agreement where this debt originated. Once I asked for this, the tone changed and the person on the other side of the line became very rude. Wouldn't stop talking over me, and eventually responded with " I don't care what you have to say '' essentially no longer listening to me and only wanting me to pay up. I hung up before they could get any nastier. As soon as I asked for clarity on the debt they are trying to collect they became unruly and unable to communicate. This didn't feel legitimate. This felt like a shakedown from someone who has too much of my personal information.
