I purchased two refundable one way tickets from Chase XXXX Rewards program using my Chase Card for a flight from LAX to FLL on XXXX XXXX leaving XX/XX/XXXX. I paid using over XXXX in points plus {$150.00} via my Chase card.. On XX/XX/XXXX I tested positive for XXXX and changed the flight to leave on XXXX XXXX. I paid an additional {$510.00} using my Chase card due to the increase in price for the new date. Unfortunately on XXXX XXXX, I was ordered by the Health Department to postpone my trip to XXXX XXXX out of concern I might still be contagious. I called Chase XXXX Rewards on that day and throughout that week to cancel and refund my points and the money I paid for both tickets. They have refused and asked me to pay 150 cancellation fee for the refundable ticket. I explained that it was refundable and therefore cancellation fee didn't apply because XXXX does not charge cancellation fee. They said the airline was charging this and it was out of their hands. When I called the airline they confirmed there is no fee to cancel the ticket and they cancelled the reservation for me without charging me. When I called Chase XXXX Rewards reps they still refused to issue my refund and said I needed to get it from XXXX even though I never paid XXXX XXXX any money directly. XXXX has also said they can not issue the refund since it was not paid directly to them. See attached screenshot with their letter to me. Chase XXXX Rewards continues to refuse to credit my account the points and and monies I paid for the ticket. I would like help getting this credited back to my account.
