I had a house fire to my apartment building XX/XX/2021. I have been issued money through my insurance company. Due to me having a mortgage Carrington Mortgage company was added to my claim loss. Carrington has cashed checks from the insurance company, and has advised me the check bounced. Proof was submitted to Carrington the check cleared. However, Ive paid my contractor, and Carrington has stopped payments on checks thats already cleared their bank, and has been giving me problems not wanting to reissue the funds in order for me to complete the repair process. I have advised Carrington on several occasions to set up an inspection for my unit so that more funds are released, but its like pulling teeth for them to send out an inspector. I was advised all checks that I send into Carrington is put into a Escrow Account, and I am reissued a check through Carrington. One would think, the mortgage company would just endorse the check from my insurance company and mail it back out to me. Carrington instead puts my money into an account I know nothing about. Carringtons failed to release my funds, in order for me to complete my house fire claim. I have been without rent for 10 months due to their negligence. XXXX at Carrington went so far and requested bank statements from my insurance company to verify this check didn't bounce. The insurance company had already provided XXXX a copy of the cleared check and the date the check cleared the bank. This has put me in a bad position with my contractors, XXXX stopped payment on a check of mines, and she should have never done that, considering the check had already cleared in Carringtons system.
