I've been trying to get a XXXX fare ticket refunded. First through the merchant with nonresponse, and then through the citibank XXXX XXXX the ticket was charged on. According to the merchant policy I could make changes or cancel the ticket up to XXXX hour prior to departure. I canceled it 6 days prior to departure and less than XXXX hours after receiving confirmation.Even if there were any fare restrictions, fine prints, would have been overridden as stated by the merchant if they failed to confirm my reservation within XXXX hour due to internal delays. Furthermore, the purchase of a new ticket for the same travel date and itinerary 6 days prior to departure and only a few hours after receiving XXXX reservation confirmation, also using the same credit card ending on # XXXX along with the submitted documentation 's timeline proves I have done my due diligence to cancel this ticket as I don'tsee any reason Id keep both. I will never again purchase a travel ticket unless it's straight from the carrier. Online merchants who make it impossible forthe customer to reach customerservice and don'thonor theirpolicy like this particularmerchant give a bad name to online sellers. The credit card company has shown little to no effort to settle this matter
