In early XX/XX/2021 I noticed four unauthorized charges on my Citibank Costco credit card totaling {$2100.00}. All charges were dated XXXX, three were to the XXXX XXXX and one was to the XXXX XXXX XXXX. Neither my wife or I have ever been to a professional football game or a XXXX XXXX XXXX baseball game. I immediately contacted Citibank and reported the charges. They sent me some dispute documents which I filled out and returned. On XXXX I received a letter from Citibank dated XXXX stating that their investigator has determined that I placed the order and was responsible for the charge. It also advised that if I did not pay they would report it to the three consumer reporting agencies. The letter was unsigned and no contact information was on the letter. On XXXX at XXXX I contacted Citibank ( via their customer service number ) named XXXX XXXX who claimed to be a supervisor but was unable to locate the Investigator who handled my dispute or provide his name. I am a retired XXXX ( OH ) Police Department Detective ( XXXX yrs service ) and was the XXXX XXXX at the XXXX XXXX ( OH ) for 17 years. I have extensive experience in XXXX XXXX investigations and Fraud and Economic Crimes investigations, including credit card and related crimes. I know I am not responsible for the fraudulent acts of other on my credit card but it appears to me that Citibank is trying to " bully '' customers into paying for fraudulent charges made on their credit card.
