About two weeks ago I contacted Chase Bank regarding my debit card and a card chip issue. I was told that the card only needed a reset. Since then I've had issues woth my card declining, unable to access funds via the ATM, or request cash back on purchases while at a terminal. Today, XX/XX/2021, I contacted Chase customer service to request a new card. Currently, I live about 30 to 40 minutes from the nearest branch and have no cash on me. I asked if the card could be expedited. I was told that there would be a {$5.00} charge and that they're not authorized to waive the fee. Instead, now I have to wait 3 to 5 business days to get a new debit and to have access to an ATM near me. I'm stuck having to use my credit card for purchases. This type pf behavior and their unwillingness to assist a customer by waiving a fee is clearly a form of an abusive and unfair practice. I will be closing my account, but I could not let this type of behavior go and possibly affect other customers that may facing some sort of hardship and may require expedited access to access device. Your bank should clearly consider the potential heightened risks of XXXX violations or what could possibly cause regulatory scrutiny. Treat your customers like people rather than a dollar sign and maybe this way you'll retain your clientele.
