In XXXX 2020 ( can not find my bill ) I went to Best Buy in XXXX XXXX XXXX IL and purchased a gas stove and the matching microwave ( both XXXX black steel ) XXXX At the time of purchased I was offered a one year supporting agreement with the XXXX XXXX and I said no. Then I was told that if I purchased the agreement I would get a discount on the appliances that was a little bit more than the cost of the supporting agreement so I said OK ( I was saving a few dollars ). This year the contract was up for renewal and I told Best Buy I did not want to renew it, however, they went ahead and charged my Best Buy credit card for that contract in the amount of {$260.00}. When I received the first statement from Citibank ( that is the bank that carries the Best Buy credit card, I called and told them I had not made nor had I authorized that purchase. Citibank told me I had to take that issue with Best Buy, Best Buy said I needed to talk to the XXXX XXXX division and after talking to a great number of people, Best Buy finally agreed to remove the charge from my account. However, Citibank refuses to close my account insisting that I must pay them for late charges and the interest a total as of today of {$80.00}. I am refusing to pay for something I did not purchased. I wrote to the XXXX XXXX, Best Buy XXXX XXXX in XXXX, MN ; I copied XXXX XXXX, Best Buy XXXX in XXXX, MN and I have not received an answer from either office. In the meantime, my credit is getting damaged because Citibank has posted my account as delinquent. I need help. I tried to take care of this myself but I am not getting anywhere with Citibank. Best Buy has reduced my credit limit to {$350.00}, when it was a few thousands, which I really don't care because I will never again do business with that store, so I will close my account with them, but I do want my credit report to be corrected. I have not allowed any of my account to go delinquent, ever. I was charged for an item that I did not buy and I did not approved. Please help.
