I first informed Chase on XX/XX/XXXX that I noticed a derogatory account ( ending in XXXX ) in my credit report at XXXX and that this was a fraud account and that I did not create that account. I also told Chase that it was listed under my name and ssn but the address was one I never had or used. Someone had stolen my name and ssn and used it to create the account. Chase sent me letters on XX/XX/XXXX, XXXX saying that I was responsible for the account and that the account was reported accurately. They also sent the same letters to the 3 major credit bureaus and XXXX. The only reason they gave for their determination that the account was accurate was that they had " correspondence showing '' I knew of the account. In their XX/XX/XXXX letter they said that " I accepted responsibility for the account ''. I categorically denied any involvement with the account and wrote letters to Chase requesting documents ( of transactions made, the application for the account, and other written documents related to the account ). They have not given me any documents related to the account. I requested those documents because I did not receive any written documentation of that account because Chase had apparently sent those to the false address and not to me. I called Chase on XX/XX/XXXX and at that date Chase still had the false address on that account as being my current address! I corrected them but since then they have not acknowledged that they used this false address for communication about this account. In fact, they have continued to insist that the account is accurate ( letter dated XX/XX/XXXX ). The false address listed on the account was : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, XXXX XXXX. My address is : XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX. In Chase 's letters sent to me and to the credit bureaus, they said " we confirmed that your account is valid and reporting accurately ''. This false statement to the credit reporting agencies is a violation of the FCRA which protects consumers.
