Citibank reference # 's : XXXX and XXXX I am the executor of my Aunt 's Estate. She had various checking and retirement accounts with Citi. I was able to close the checking accounts at a local branch, but they were unable to take any action on the retirement accounts. I have sent correspondence to Citi XXXX XXXX XXXX in XXXX XXXX, TX with the required legal documentation demonstrating that I am the executor ( with an original of the death certificate ) requesting that Citi identify to me the number of accounts that remain active and who the beneficiaries are, if any were named. My letters are datedXX/XX/XXXX, XX/XX/XXXX and XX/XX/XXXX which also included withdrawal forms Citi asked me to complete. On XXXX XX/XX/2021 Citi issued XXXX checks to the estate of my aunt in the amounts of {$5500.00} and {$9700.00}. There was no explanation at all and no reference to the type of account the funds came from, or the account numbers. All I got were checks in an envelope marked " XXXX XXXX ''. No statement was provided to indicate how the amounts were determined. XXXX months after asking Citi to provide me account information and balances, I still have no response. I have no idea what accounts were open, what the balances were and whether some or all of the accounts have now been closed. I have made it very clear in my correspondence that by not providing me the information to which I am legally entitled, Citi is delaying the closure of the estate. The lack of responsiveness of this group, and the inability/unwillingness to respond to specific questions, has been very very frustrating. My specific request remains exactly the same. Tell me what retirement accounts my aunt had active at the time of her death. Tell me the account balances. Tell who the named beneficiaries were, or if there were none. And please close all the accounts.
