On XX/XX/2021 I deposited a government check from my Federally recognized XXXX XXXX ( XXXX XXXX XXXX ) to my Bank of America checking. This was a day before XXXX. I was advised that while a hold would be placed on the funds, they would cover any things debited from the account on the next business day XX/XX/2021. I have now received {$100.00} in fees from the bank ALONE ( nevermind the merchant ) because they are not allowing my debits to be processed ( automatic payments ) because they wont remove the hold. I did not ask for the entire hold to be removed, just enough to cover what is currently being pulled since I was advised it would cover it by the next business day ( XX/XX/2021 ). When attempting to get the fee refunded, I was advised I couldnt. I was advised the check looked fraudulent even though it was drawn on another bank ( XXXX ) and was government issued. I recognize and understand the need for the hold, however, I am extremely upset that they were able to release the hold to take THEIR monthly maintenance fee and then charge me additional fees.
