I have contacted the CFPB on the same attempt from another collectiron agency and at that time you were able to resolve the issue and you closed your case as the XXXX agree to remove the item from my credit report. Today, XX/XX/21 I received the request for the same amount {$230.00} purportedly from another collection agency. I immediately contacted the agency the same day first spoke to XXXX XXXX that abruptly closed the phone call as soon as she found out I was calling to dispute the amount being requested. I called back and this time a certain XXXX answered my call I told him the the correct amount should be {$79.00} not {$230.00}, XXXX did not even made an attempt to understand my request immediately forcefully requested that I pay the full amount. Stating ; " THIS AMOUNT IS ALREADY UNDER COLLECTION IN XXXX CREDIT REPORT ''. I drew his attention to to their letter that states : Unless you notify this office within 30 days after receiving this notice that you disputed the validity of this debt, or any portion thereof, this office will assume this debt is valid ''. It is clear that this agency does not even make an attempt to get feed back from the consumer prior to proceeding to report a debt on the credit report. My XXXX XXXX went down from XXXX to XXXX and I assume it will go down ever further once all agencies capture this collection attempt. You can see how much damage these agencies can cause to a consumer. Obviously these type of entities, that engage in debt collection, despite the efforts of the CFPB continue, without any controls, to engage in very Unfair Deceptive Acts and Practices. I informed XXXX of my intention to contact the CFPB on this matter he did not seem much concerned seems the only concern they have is to abuse consumers.
