XX/XX/2021 : XXXX XXXX. I tried to purchase a air ticket through XXXX XXXX. But I received an email saying my payment did not go through. I used my newly opened Citi Credit card and a gift card received through employer. Credit card charge was {$2300.00} and Gift card was {$250.00}. Upon calling XXXX XXXX, the first person told me, there was an issue with the gift card and the CREDIT card transaction went through. She matched the gift card and pin and said I entered all the information Correctly. She said the other transaction will fall off on its own and she is going to retry charging the credit card which was obviously denied because i already had a pending charge of {$2300.00}. Upon trying multiple times to resolve it with XXXX XXXX saying i have a bad credit card. My credit card has a {$4000.00} limit. I called Citi to confirm that the first transaction went through and which is why the subsequent transactions were getting denied. Without being able to resolve it, and after at least 4-5 hours on phone call, i asked them to cancel the ticket and hoped that the transaction would fall off. Today is XX/XX/XXXX and I still have the pending charge of {$2300.00}. In the meantime, i tried calling both the merchant ( XXXX XXXX ) and CIti ( the credit card company ). They both blame each other and say we can not do anything. You have to wait 30 days.
