Received credit card bill Previous Balance : {$20000.00} Payments made prior to the Previous Balance Due date {$31000.00} New Balance {$7800.00} Included interest charges of {$180.00} based on one XXXX cash advance of {$300.00}, of which {$170.00} in interest charges was for Standard Purchases. In addition, there was a {$15.00} XXXX fee and {$2.00} interest on the cash advance imposed by Citi. Citi Supervisor on XX/XX/21 at XXXX XXXX XXXX advised that they charge interest based on the average daily balance anytime there is a Cash Advance - ie XXXX. The " About Interest Charges '' included on the billing statement : " How to Avoid Paying interest on Purchased. .. We will not charge you interest on purchases if you pay your monthly Flex Plan Payment Amount ( if any ) plus your New Balance, excluding any Citi Flex Plan balances, by the due date each month.... We will begin charging interest on cash advances and balance transfers on the transaction date. .. '' Nowhere does it state that Citi will charge interest on Standard Purchases based on the average daily balance for the billing cycle if you take a Cash Advance. I asked for where it states that in the contract. Supervisor XXXX started making up language that does not exist, such as stating the About Interest Charges read, " We will charge interest once you take a Cash Advance based on your average daily balance. '' I asked to speak to his manager and was told that his manager is XXXX and XXXX is not working tonight. I am asking that the {$170.00} interest on Standard Purchased be reversed.
