About a little over XXXX year I went to my bank ( Citibank ) to do a regular transaction with them while being there they offered me a Credit Card to help build my credit since I didn't have one. I asked that if I could move a balance from another account to this card and they said that it was not a problem. When they offered me that card and that in was interest-free for as long as I paid my balance on time each month. So I received my card, and started paying the balance each month on time to avoid this. To make things a lot easier on me, I decided to enroll on autopay to so I wouldn't forget each payment. For months I saw that the payments was going thru w/o a problem. A few months ago I started noticing that my balance was NOT going down despite the fact that I was paying the minimum amount which was anywhere between $ XXXX to get this balance down faster. Well it turns out that despite me being responsible for this long the bank was charging my a " interest fee '' for having the card and I was never told this. I found out when I checked online that they were charging me around $ XXXX dollars each month for this " interest fee '' even though I had already paid on time every single time. I called the bank and they said that it was an interest for having a debt with the bank which it was NEVER explained to me. Had I known that I would have never agreed to this. I asked their representative since when they have been charging me for this and he said that since late XXXX. I was floored, no wonder my debt never went down even though I was paying responsibly each month around {$90.00} dollars. To me this is completely illegal, I was never informed about this by the bank nor I received a letter or email regarding this. I asked the bank to reimburse me all that money and they put me on hold a few times but the phone call never went thru. So I feel like they are not taking responsibility for this. I would have paid that card basically in full if they didn't charged me all those outrageous fees for so long. Here I am paying on time, being a good citizen, not missing a single monthly payment so the bank can easily rob my money without my consent. I need to for the bank to reimburse me all that money. I appreciate your help in advance. Thank you.
