Citicard transaction declined on XX/XX/21 for {$320.00} I have been with Citicard many years, always paid on time and had minimal balance. Tried to make purchase and card was declined. I said that was impossible. Clerk tried again and purchase approved. I called Citicard to ask what happened. I was told that on random transactions they will decline a purchase as part of a security check. It had nothing to do with my account or history, it was just done randomly when they felt like it. They said that I had consented to this when I accepted their terms. I had never lost my card or reported fraud on the account. I can not begin to describe the embarrasment I felt, as I was in a very expensive store. I have maintained an excellent credit record in order to avoid this type of situation. I want people to know about Citicards practice on accounts that are in excellent standing.
