I chose to opt out of overdraft protection to avoid being hit with the {$37.00} fee that the bank says I won't get charged if I do this. I lost a source of income and fell into an insufficient fund situation in XX/XX/2021. The bank was making payments above my balance. I received a government payment that allowed me to pay off bills I needed to. But then on It started on XX/XX/XXXX with a {$190.00} payment to XXXX XXXX, and I was charged the {$37.00}. Then a payment on XX/XX/XXXX to XXXX for {$160.00}. And payments will into XXXX. There was a credit memo balance credit added, which only made things worse because it's not apart of my accounting system and cause even more problems with overdrafts. I received another government payment on XX/XX/XXXX, and the credit memo/ debit memo was taken out late, and taken twice. My balance is incorrect and now I'm being hit with even more charges.
