On XX/XX/2021 I tried to make a payment for the remaining balance on my Citibank credit card and it never went through. I used the same checking account for the payment that my auto pay was set up for and had never had a problem with that checking account for auto payments. The payment was for approximately $ XXXX and my bank account balance at that time was about $ XXXX, so the funds were available. After I realized that the payment hadn't posted I tried a second time on XX/XX/2021. When the second payment didn't go through I went into the Citibank website and deleted then reentered the payment account information thinking there was a glitch in the system. Then I tried a third time on XX/XX/2021 with the same results. I called Citibank and they said my bank wasn't letting the payment go through. I called my bank and they said nothing had gone through or been denied for any reason from Citibank and my bank statements reflect that information. After all this, I took time off of work to go to a Citibank branch and wrote a check for the balance and the check did post and I thought my account was paid off. Then I got another bill for {$160.00} for interest on the account for the time during which I was trying to make the online payments that didn't go through for some unknown reasons. My complaint it that I don't think I should have to pay this interest charge if it was an online payment problem in the Citibank system.
