The XXXX statement for my USAA credit card was posted on XX/XX/XXXX. It showed Cash Advance balance subject to interest of {$8900.00} and an interest fee of {$95.00}. I have never taken a cash advance on this card. I called the company on XX/XX/XXXX to inform them of the error. The individual I spoke with indicated that is how they account for interest on balance transfers. I previously had a balance transfer, but paid it off before the promotional period ended, and thus should not have been subject to any interest charge on the balance transfer either. I work in the financial industry, so I know that written complaints have to be dealt with, and where the individual on the phone wasn't willing to correct the issue and waive the fee, I submitted a letter to USAA which was received on XX/XX/XXXX. I received an email confirmation that they were reviewing it. This morning, XX/XX/XXXX, I received another email saying the fee is valid and I am required to pay it. I do not believe this fee is valid, and even though it may only be {$100.00} to me, which I can afford, if this company is doing similar behavior with its thousands of customers, especially if they are servicemembers, then I believe it's something that should be investigated.
