XXXX owed my boyfriend money for a purchase. He called customer service to get it resolved and they made him download an app to prove his identity to send the funds. He spoke with multiple managers to confirm this direction. It didnt work so he asked me to help. They reassured me it would just be a hold on the account and they wouldnt actually take my money. I knew in my gut it was weird and wrong, but my boyfriend was pressuring me to help because he wanted to get the money back he was owed. I sent them {XXXX} via XXXX and of course it went through, but they were unable to return the money to me. They kept asking me to download another cash app or share my credit card info and by now I knew it was a scam so I refused. Chase has a policy against refunding incorrect XXXX payments. I understand this policy, but Id think if youre victim to a scam theyd be able to assist. Unfortunately, that is not the case.
