I contact Pheonix Financial Services via email about a debt I saw on my credit report from them. I stated that I did not have an account number and that if it was medical debt it belonged to my ex-husband per our divorce agreement in 2019. I received a reply from : XXXX XXXX Phoenix Financial Services, LLC XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX, IN XXXX XXXX toll-free XXXX general fax XXXX Correspondence was as follows : Me : I see a debt from you on my credit report. No information about said debt. No account number. Nothing. If this is a medical debt, I divorced and it is in our legally binding divorce agreement that my ex husband is to cover all medical debt. If this is a bill that never got sent to our insurance, I can not help you because I have different insurance. If you have no idea what this debt is, either do we. Her : Thank you for your inquiry, please provide an account/reference number in order for us to assist you. If you do not have one we can try locating by any of the following : Address, phone number, or complete social security number. I apologize for any inconvenience. Me : The address this mail should go to is XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX Ohio XXXX. If it isn't a medical billl, then I have no idea what it is and it is probably not my debt. I have no account number because I have never seen this bill. Her : That address is not associated with an account in our system. I can try to locate the account with your phone number or social security number. You may also call XXXX and a representative will be able to better assist you in locating the account. I apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you, Me : I feel like a search by my name would be adequate if it was a legitimate debt. I feel like this is a phishing scam. The date of your debt corresponds to the address I gave you. I suggest you send out an actual account number to that address identifying yourself and the account in question. I will not give any personal information to a possible scam. This debt is XXXX dollars that keeps hitting my credit report over and over. I mean, it is XXXX dollars. My ex husband would have paid XXXX dollars had he seen a bill that was legitimate. I don't know what this debt is and I am not getting answers, but my credit score has suffered to below XXXX now because of this mystery XXXX dollars that no one can tell me about unless I give personal information.
