On XX/XX/2021 I opened up a new line of credit through Synchrony Bank through the XXXX website. Purchase was for XXXX. A few days after a hold was placed on the activity. I called to try to resolve, they couldn't help until I received my physical card from them. On XX/XX/2021 I received the physical card. One I was able to speak with the bank they informed me they put a hold on the transaction due to a discrepancy. They stated that I had two purchases on my account of XXXX and XXXX. I told them the XXXX was mine and I claimed that transaction. The XXXX was not mine and was a fraudulent charge. They then proceeded to close my account, cancel my card and reissue me a new account and card. However the report through the Fraud Agency stated that I had requested the XXXX transaction as " fraud '' and did not mention anything about the XXXX transaction. For whatever reason the bank no longer saw the " XXXX '' transaction within my records. This was a misleading event. My bank told me about two purchases, I said one was fraudulent, they deleted for whatever reason from their records the fraudulent claim and then said I said the XXXX transaction was fraudulent, which it was not. I cancelled the fraud investigation, but now I have wasted a week for a purchase I was willing to make and pay off. This is blatant incompetence and potentially damaging to my credit which I did not deserve to receive. I completed all the appropriate actions to ensure a smooth transition but the company was nowhere able to support the needs and mislead me on what had occured and how it was recorded.
