I received 3 emails from Chase Bank on XX/XX/2021 at XXXX XXXX that I thought were fake. When I called Chase Bank that day, I told the representative about my concern and he stated there was nothing he could do because I wasn't a chase customer and to send the emails to chase 's phishing email, which I did right after. On ( XX/XX/2021 ) I received a letter in the mail stating they updated my address and email. I called the bank because I thought it was fake where the woman confirmed someone opened a checking account and debit card on ( XX/XX/2021 ). That same day I called all three credit bureaus for credit freezes and fraud alerts. The next day on XX/XX/2021 I filed a police report to dispute the bank account. The account was closed on XX/XX/2021. I then remembered that earlier this past spring, I reached out to my state representative for help because my weekly claims needed additional information to be processed. I then found out someone called unemployment ( I never had before ) tried to change things, such as my address claiming to be me. Unemployment wanted me to submit copies of my ss and my driver 's license on their website but I didn't feel comfortable because someone possibly got into my account and has my personal information. On XX/XX/2021 a representative from unemployment reached out to me for possible fraud on my account and I was informed my claim was a 'hijack claim. ' During the conversation, we discovered my claim was hijacked and my information was stolen from the XXXX XXXX. Into further inspection, the fraudulent bank account was linked to my unemployment for direct deposit, but they didn't receive payments due to my claim weeks needing more information for my address. Unemployment also told me there was another bank account at Chase Bank with my information and could only give me the last 4 numbers of the account but the woman confirmed my information was also linked to this new account I was told about. Then I called Chase right away in which they denied the account stating it was a profile that was not approved, or not established or no movement on the account. Additionally, Chase has not handled this issue correctly at all and I don't know where to begin. I swear Chase made this process so hard so I didn't close this account and can not believe they are allowing this online method to open accounts to occur since that is where the fraud is happening. Someone tried to open another account at Chase Bank but was denied due to the fraud alert but they wouldn't tell me the day this happened. I have had to spend close to 10 hours or more on the phone due to supervisors telling me wrong information, not being told about a profile being created the same day as the bank account, and their customer service representatives giving me personal information from the fraudulent bank account that wasn't allowed to be given out ( later found out from a supervisor ).
