Consumer Narrative

I applied for an XXXX XXXX credit card from Bank of America using a link from the XXXX XXXX website to a Bank of America website. The information on the XXXX XXXX website and on the Bank of America website offered a promotion of XXXX XXXX XXXX miles if I spent {$8000.00} within 90 days of opening the account. The promotion was very clear and was on the same page as the application I completed, so I definitely applied under that promotion. After I spent the required amount, Bank of America only credited me with XXXX XXXX XXXX miles. I contacted Bank of America and spoke to several representatives and supervisors. I provided detailed information to them. They all told me that they had no authority to correct anything - they could only submit a case to a back office to do " research ''. I received a letter to call them. When I called, they told me that the back office had completed their " research '' and that I had applied under a XXXX-mile promotion. That is not true. The back office did not actually do any research. They only looked at the promotion code that their website had entered incorrectly. They also told me that there was nothing anyone could do and there was no one I could appeal this to. I have included detailed information in attachments. I have also attached a copy of the application webpage showing the XXXX-mile promotion on the same page as where I entered my information and submitted my application. I had applied for this credit card specifically to get XXXX XXXX XXXX miles to purchase two tickets for an XXXX XXXX next year, and I spent {$15000.00} on this credit card so that I would have the needed XXXX miles ( with the XXXX-mile bonus ). I already had to spend {$970.00} for the two XXXX XXXX tickets, since I needed tickets to a specific destination only served by XXXX XXXX on a specific day to meet a cruise, and these tickets may not be available later. I should have been able to get these tickets using the XXXX XXXX miles they should have given me.
