The classification for this complaint was not listed in the choices so it may be in the wrong category. This complaint is on Portfolio Recovery LLC. I live in the state of Florida. Florida law say any company attempting to collect a debt or collecting a debt in the state of Florida has to be licensed in the state of Florida to collect that debt, Portfolio Recovery LLC is not license din the State of Florida to collect debts. I have included the Florida Statues that verify what I say. Title XXX111 Chapter 559.565 and Chapter 559.533.This law applies to all debt collectors rather they are located in the state of Florida or not. The penalty section makes that abundantly clear. ( See bottom of 559. 565 ). Portfolio Recovery LLC is in violation of Florida law which makes this an illegal debt. I have filed a complaint against them with the Florida Attorney Generals office.I want Portfolio Recovery to cease all collection efforts and remove their trade line from my credit report. Portfolio recovery can not report an illegal debt to the credit bureaus. Portfolio Recover violated Florida law by attempting to collect this debt. I have included a copy of Portfolio Recovery LLC expires Florida XXXX.
