I mailed payments for my VISA and over draft protection on XX/XX/2021 via USPS Priority Mail, tracking number : XXXX. Tracking indicates it was picked up from the Post Office on XX/XX/2021 but not posted to my credit card balance until XX/XX/2021. I contacted First Citizens and was told I had to allow the time to sort, etc. This is incorrect as XXXX Payments clearly states. ( a ) General rule. A creditor shall credit a payment to the consumer 's account as of the date of receipt, except when a delay in crediting does not result in a finance or other charge or except as provided in paragraph ( b ) of this section. I have also requested them to close my account which they have refused to do.
