Consumer Narrative
I went to my local Chase Bank branch and as always was directed toward their Indoor ATM/Teller machine. I first had to pull out cash from my IRS stimulus debit cards so I could transfer the funds to my checking account. The machine had trouble with this and only allowed me to removed a portion of my available funds that equated to roughly {$1600.00}. I then needed to deposit my businesses checks to my business checking account in addition to the cash I had just withdrew along with a few other personal checks. In total, the deposit was roughly {$25000.00} give it take a few XXXX dollars. After inserting the cash and then the checks, the machine began to process the items. Then out of no where it spit my money back out to me. I was shocked and very confused. So I took my cash out of the tray for fear that it would get stuck. Then the screen started to show a load symbol, then made a bunch of noises like it was processing my checks, and suddenly and error message popped up with instructions to call a 1-800 number. I grabbed a teller and they were very perplexed by this instance and instructed me to call. I called and spent nearly 30+ minutes on the phone with a customer service rep who had no idea what to do. He said they would send a team of researchers to investigate the situation in 10 days, and if there was no remedy, they would loan me the {$25000.00} until it was settled. The branch staff had said that this has happened before but never with this much money. So they just told me to deal with the customer service people over the phone. Ultimately, no action has been taken by chase or the branch staff to fix the machine and they then continued to allow other customers to use the machine and even directed them to use the exact ATM that had just taken all of my money without depositing it. I have people and bills to pay and checks that have been written, yet the branch staff nor the customer service reps seemed like they had any care to fix the situation. Please help me track down my money.
