I have a mortgage with Rocket Mortgage - it is a refi from a year ago. Over the last week I received approximately 10 phone calls and voice mails on a refi with them, even though it has only been a year since my refi. I finally, answer the last call and the sales person asked for 10 mins- I gave it to him. I told him no, clear and plainly. For me, the closing cost weren't worth it. 5 days later, the loan paperwork can via XXXX. I immediately called them to stop the loan. They sent me to another salesman. He argued with me, got anger because I wouldn't agree to the loan. Statements like " why would I want to save money. '' He was getting more upset. Playing anger is a con for older people, so much so, that they will sign to appease the salesperson. I just wanted to make sure the loan process that I didn't signed up for wasn't happening. My question was never answered by him. He hung up on me with a rude tone. I called rocket mortgage back to speak to a supervisor to file a complaint, and to make sure that there was no loan in process. He said the numbers were started and that they would handle it internally. I have my doubts. If I wasn't paying off my mortgage sooner then later, I would refi with a reputable company.
