I received a promotional offer for XXXX bonus miles if I spent {$4000.00} in 3 months, I'm pretty sure it was a direct mailing but am not 100 % sure as it was a while ago. I signed up for the card in XX/XX/XXXX. I spent more than the {$4000.00} and waited several months before contacting them as I still had not received the bonus miles. The customer support person said I didn't qualify because I had a similar card in XX/XX/XXXX and therefore didn't meet the requirements for the bonus. So, one, why did I receive the offer. Two why did it allow me to sign up for the offer online if I didn't qualify. The card comes with an annual fee plus I would have signed up for a different offer and used my money elsewhere. The customer service person was completely understanding and said it's a common complaint. So they know it's an issue but do nothing about it because they get people to sign up for the annual fee and profit from it. This is yet another bank profiting from a broken system.
