Our accounts with Bank of America were frozen due to a " data breech '' .in XX/XX/2021. We were unable to access any of our accounts for over 6 weeks. The Bank of America did not give us any documentation of the freeze to use to alert our creditors and we had automatic payments bounce. Because of their undocumented freeze, we had to put everything on credit cards for over 6 weeks and pay late fees on payments to our creditors. We have had to open accounts at another bank because Bank of America would not even assist with reestablishing our accounts under new numbers. I have since learned that they should have provided us with credit report protection and assistance with the creditors to explain the delay in payments and confirm the validity of the freeze as part of a data breech. We have had increasing credit rate reductions since XXXX XXXXwhich seems to be falling monthly even though we are up to date on our payments with automatic withdrawals through our new bank. My complaint is with the lack of formal documentation of the breech and our accounts being frozen and our online statements being wiped out to even know which payments were made or not during that time before and during the freeze. There was no customer support or even a claim number to refer to in the system according to the bank due to it " being under investigation ''. As a further result of this breech as of XX/XX/2021 I received notice that someone has appllied for unemployment benefits in my name and social security number in Illinois. When I notified the credit reporting companies and my local pollice to get a report # I was strongly recommended to also report the bank to your agency. Please let me know what else you will need from us to follow up with the Bank of America and their shady " data breech '' protocol that has now damaged our credit rating and provided NO support or assistance to repair our credit rating and the interest we had to pay on our credit cards due to lack of access to our funds for an extended period of time ( +6 weeks ).
