Consumer Narrative
JPMorgan Chase " owns '' my mortgage ( i.e., it is an internal Chase Loan ). This mortgage has been part of a mortgage forbearance program which, as of now, is due to end on XX/XX/XXXX. I have applied for mortgage assistance through JPMorgan Chase, as well as have applied to receive federal mortgage aid from the Homeowner Assistance Fund established as part of American Rescue Plan which became Federal Law in XX/XX/XXXX. XXXX Chase initially provided me with five ( 5 ) assistance options : 1 ) Modification 2 ) Forbearance Plan 3 ) Repayment Plan 4 ) Short Sale 5 ) Deed-in-Lieu of Foreclosure After further review, they informed me I was only eligible for the : 4 ) Short Sale & 5 ) Deed-in-Lieu of Foreclosure options. I requested in writing, but have NOT received, an explanation of why I wasn't eligible for : 1 ) Modification ; 2 ) Forbearance Plan ; 3 ) Repayment Plan I NEED to receive a full and complete explanation from JPMorgan Chase. The Homeowner Assistance Fund in Texas will not start to be disbursed until XX/XX/XXXX ( which is after the current federal foreclosure moratorium date of XX/XX/XXXX ). I need to ensure my loan does not become endorsed for foreclosure after XX/XX/XXXX and prior to my receipt of federal funding pursuant to the American Rescue Plan. I believe the CFPB 's recent Final Rule, Protections for Borrowers Affected by the COVID-19 Emergency Under the Real Estate Settlement Procedures ACT ( RESPA ), Regulation X, protects me from any possible foreclosure activity until XX/XX/XXXX. I have sought confirmation from JPMorgan Chase that no foreclosure activity would commence before XX/XX/XXXX and Chase has NOT responded to me. Finally, the CEO of XXXX XXXX Bank ( a competitor of JPMorgan Chase ), publicly stated at the United States Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Meeting on XX/XX/XXXX, that for loans they own ( i.e., like Chase " owning '' mine ), XXXX XXXX extended its foreclosure moratorium until the end of XXXX. It seems like Chase should easily be able to do the same for me.
