Requested rate online for refi of mortgage with couple of online lenders. Received email followed by phone call from Better.com and XXXX XXXX, loan originator. I was told in writing and in phone call because of the 60 % XXXX I estimated and 50 % XXXX XXXX estimated and my excellent credit I was pre approved. I made it clear numerous time I was not prepared to move forward yet as I had to leave town in few days to help with family having major XXXX XXXX and would not have access to records of multiple properties I owned. XXXX however assured me repeatedly there were only couple things needed to do online. After answering few questions online and becoming concerned that this was not a no doc or low doc mortgage, the next tasks on website were locking in mortgage and paying for appraisal. I asked her if appraiser needed inside and she didnt know. I told her if he or she did to tell them it would be few weeks. I also asked if I was going to be asked for tax returns as I would need to scan the 50 or 60 pages before leaving town. The appraiser called few hours after I paid appraisal fee and was told nothing. The tasks continued to pour in day after day with XXXX and her assistant refusing to take any responsibility for the misleading pre approval and other statements the were fully aware were misleading. The document I did provide with explanations were repeadetly rejected because pertinent information was never conveyed to underwriting. I repeadetly explained for example many properties were paid for but they continued the website continued to request loan papers. 2 properties that are on one insurance policy were repeadetly submitted with explanation to XXXX, her assistant and her team yet they would simply load to website and then tell me they were rejected because address was wrong. This repeated deceptive pre approval and ignoring everything I have said since day one including income on application says XXXX when XXXX, mortgage listed twice ect were of no concern to them. All they wanted were task completed which must be 30 or 40 items and website that is horrible for self employed or landlords. They have now insisted my application may be rejected for being incomplete. They accept no responsibility for sucking me into process that I repeadetly told them would be difficult with only cell phone that must be off most all day and records XXXX miles away.
