I decided on XX/XX/2021 to close 2 accounts at Citibank due to their unavailability on the telephone ( I have an online account ) and their representatives ' consistent inability to help me ( if I ever got one on the phone after repeated calls and wait times in excess of 20 minutes. ) I called, was put on hold for 23 minutes, then a representative named XXXX told me to simply withdraw or transfer the money in the account to XXXX. He said the account would automatically be closed in 30 days. Since then they have been charging fees on the accounts, and have been robo-calling, emailing and texting relentlessly to collect these charges on a " closed '' account. All this for about {$65.00}. Today ( XX/XX/2021 - Sunday! ) they called again and I decided to try to get this resolved. I was again put on hold and finally transferred to someone in the customer " service '' department named XXXX. I told him what happened and he tried to sell me on more accounts and became very adversarial and argumentative when I told him I was not willing to wait on hold indefinitely. I ended up hanging up on him.
