Consumer Narrative
XX/XX/XXXX I went online to place a travel notiice under my account in Bank of America from XXXX, sc to XXXX XXXX, TX. The application and online banking removed the option to notify of any travel notice. while I was in Texas my phone was barely receiving any services and I was house sitting a sick dog. On XX/XX/XXXX there were two suspicious transfers done through XXXX to a name " XXXX XXXX '' for two withdrawals of {$1500.00}, final total of {$3000.00}. After these two transactions I was never notified of any suspicious transactions by text, nor email. I would go out to eat and get gas and I was still able to use my debit card as usual with no denial. On XX/XX/XXXX I attempted to sign into my online banking through my phone and it was not working, then I tried on my laptop and still was not working. After these failed attempts, I called Bank of America and was informed that my accounts were locked/frozen because of suspicious activity. I was confused because these transactions were already two weeks old. I then followed up with a freud complaint, I changed my username, passwords, and also closed my savings account and opened a new account to transfer the remainder of my funds. I was informed by the fraud help line that the dispute would take 10 days and my money would be refunded into my account. I trusted the process and waited. I continued to check and did not see any refund of my {$3000.00}. On XX/XX/XXXX I attemted to log back into my online banking and once again could not log in, i attempted on a desktop and failed again. I repeated the process and called BAnk of America and was informed once again that my account was locked/frozen. I informed them that i was confused because we already fixed this issue. they then informed me that this block occured on XX/XX/XXXX. I was yet again NOT contacted about any block or frozen matter on my account. And at this moment I asked for an update on my fraud claim and I was informed that they denied it because they saw no fraud cause. I do not understand because I was never contacted by phone, text or email about my Fraud claim updates or denial and any heads up on freezing my account. When attempting to log in I am asked to insert bank card number as well as my SSN and then I am told there is no match! it should match being that i am the owner of the account!
