I went to my bank XXXX Chase Bank XXXX on XX/XX/2021 to send a wire transfer of {$4500.00} to my XXXX XXXX account. The teller at the branch entered the wrong account number for the recipient of the wire transfer. They entered my XXXX XXXX account number as the recipient instead of the XXXX XXXX intermediary bank account number that XXXX XXXX uses for incoming wire transfers. I set the instructions per XXXX XXXX in front of the teller assuming she would know how to enter the information accordingly. She made a huge mistake putting information in the wrong area and now my money is in some random account at XXXX XXXX. I have attempted to have my bank ( Chase Bank ) initiate a wire recall, which theyve done 3 times. XXXX XXXX deposited the money into the random account without checking if the account holders name matched that on the wire being sent. The names dont match so the money should never have been deposited. Both companies made a mistake and neither one wants to do anything about it. XXXX XXXX has denied the 3 recalls and puts the blame on Chase Bank. It has been a back and forth blame game for 2 months and I have not gotten anywhere with this issue. Its a mistake made by the banks but the customer ( me ) is the one having to suffer the loss and deal with getting the money back. I have Reference/Claims numbers from each bank from me attempting to get a resolution. I reached several different departments but no one was able to help me. I can include those numbers if necessary, I just dont know if that is too personal of information for this initial description.
