Apparently Synchrony Bank recently sent emails to all of their customers stating they are changing their process of delivering their statements/bills to all of its customer to electronic delivery only unless you opted out. I did not received these notifications for whatever reason on some of my accounts so I was not able to opt out of receiving them electronically. So in turn I never received my statements to know my bill was due. Which caused me to miss payments on two of my accounts with them. I called them once I received notification they were past due and got them taken care of and they even waived the late fees due to my good payment history. I have had some of the accounts since XX/XX/2012. Then all of a sudden I am getting all of these letters in the mail they are closing all of my accounts with them due to bad payment history or whatever. I tried calling them and asking them why they were doing this and why they were reporting this to the credit bureau and destroying my credit report. They said they do annual reviews of accounts and decided to close all of mine and report them to the credit bureau. This is not right at all. They have absolutely destroyed my credit history with this complete XXXX! I realize I have a lot of unsecured debt but I pay my bills and I pay them every month on time. They are doing this to a lot of people. I know personally they have done it to my mother as well. These people need to be investigated for their business practices they are destroying peoples lives. They are just looking for ways to make up $ for all they lost due to people not making payment due to Covid and it's not right. What are people supposed to do? What if they never got the email or the letter in the mail? I guarantee you will be getting a lot of complaints about this. I don't care the accounts are closed. I am glad they are. I will never ever do business with Synchrony Bank again! I do however want my credit report fixed to show I closed the accounts at my choice and I was never late.
