I requested a wire transfer from by Chase Bank account in the amount of {$7100.00} on XX/XX/21 to a XXXX XXXX account that was supposed to belong to an end user that would be renting a new apartment to me. The money was withdrawn from my account on XX/XX/21, but I never received confirmation from the end user or supposedly XXXX that the request was made through. It turns out that the end user is a scammer and the apartment rental ad was made on a fake XXXX site because the ad suddenly no longer exists. They made it seem real with icons, reviews, etc. It was originally found on XXXX, which no longer exists as well because that ad was also fake. The name of the correspondent was XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) and the account holder name for the XXXX XXXX account is XXXX XXXX XXXX This person had initially refused to talk over the phone or meet in person so only email was used for communication. I read an article that someone using the same exact name XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX had scammed someone in XXXX XXXX using the exact same tactics so this person should be stopped to avoid scamming others in the future.
