I am in the process of applying for a home loan and in the process I discovered that Macys reported a charge off/collections under my social and name to XXXX from XXXX. I previously had a Macys account and closed the account in XXXX but XXXX paid the account before closing it. I contacted Macys about the charge off to see what was going on and they informed me that they did not report a charge off and the only records in their system indicate that I fully paid off the balance and closed the account in XXXX. Since they could not seem to find anything, they referred me to Citi Bank who might have more information. Upon contacting Citi Bank, they shared the same information Macys shared. I had an account in XXXX with Macys and the account was fully paid off and closed in XXXX. I do not owe them a balance of {$1300.00} as the charge off amount indicates on any XXXX Credit Report. Citi bank suggested a submit dispute as I do not owe them any money and they have no record of this charge off. I spoke to Citi Bank representative named XXXX.
