In XX/XX/2021, I used the Chase Ultimate Rewards portal to purchase a three night stay at the XXXX hotel by XXXX in XXXX XXXX for XX/XX/2021 - XX/XX/2021. I redeemed a total of XXXX points for the trip, equivalent to {$380.00}. Upon arriving in XXXX XXXX, we discovered that the hotel property was inaccessible, and had apparently been closed for months. I was fortunately able to find one remaining vacancy at the nearby ( more expensive ) Downtown XXXX hotel, and later in the evening was eventually able to make my first complaint with Chase Travel for a refund. The Chase support team was unable to make contact with the XXXX hotel ( since it was, of course, closed ), but told me the investigation would proceed. On XX/XX/2021, I received an email update that said Chase had " made multiple attempts but are still in the process of making contact with our travel partner for your refund. Please expect an email update from us within 72 hours. '' I followed up on this notice with several direct messages to Chase Support 's XXXX account, and was told their " Travel Team '' would be in touch " in the next 2 business days. '' On XX/XX/2021, I received an update that " We have advocated your case with XXXX, a XXXX Collection by XXXX and due to their policy in relation to your reason for cancelling your reservation, they have unfortunately denied your request. ''
