I was alerted when a fraudulent charge was made on my Citibank credit card in XXXX. Someone used my number to make a strange charge in a state I have never even visited. I called immediately and they sent me a new card and said the charge would be removed. It appears that they credited the amount, and then they mistakenly added that fraud charge again! So the fraud charge amounting to {$250.00} is still on my account. I have called repeatedly and talked to a number of Citi employees ( internationally too ). I have always paid my account in full every month. The Citi employees kept reassuring me that I was not responsible for it, and the problem would be fixed by the next billing cycle, so not to pay the fraudulent charge. I have paid my legitimate purchases and subtracted the fraud charge, as I was told. But it kept appearing on my statements. The Citi employees that understand the problem are not able to fix it, and refer me to the security department, where employees can't seem to see that the charge is on my account twice, and argue with me about it. Where is the customer service backing up the assurances that customers will not be responsible for fraudulent charges? The last time I called I asked for a mailing address so I could send a letter and a copy of my account charges from this year ( from their own website ) to explain and hopefully reach someone that will clear this up. I mailed the documents, but haven't heard anything back. This is now XXXX. I have lost all confidence in Citibank, after having a credit card with them for years. They just keep passing me around to various departments, wasting loads of time, and no one removes the fake overcharge. And now they are adding interest to it! Their slogan " Citi is at your side before, during and after every purchase - Your Citi Team '' means nothing.
