I opened a Marriott credit card with Chase Bank in XX/XX/XXXX2021. When opening this, I provided the Marriott account where points would go. The first statement, the points posted as it was supposed to. I then realized the following months ( when I had much larger point balances ) did not post. After calling into Chase three times, starting XX/XX/XXXX, I'm still being passed around. This is what I have been able to find out as of today, XX/XX/XXXX : - A new Marriott account was automatically created for me which apparently is where these points are going. I just found out what the account number is after having to do multiple calls ( and after waiting over 30 minutes to talk to a Marriott representative ), so I have no idea what points are in this account. - I was told the reason this happened is because my husband is the Marriott account holder and the credit card was opened by me. I would like to understand why this was not flagged when I was opening the credit card and why the first points posted fine, but then when I had higher point balances it started going to a newly created Marriott account which I knew nothing about. This seems extremely deceptive. - I have been passed back and forth between Chase and Marriott and as I type this I'm sitting on hold with Marriott which I have been on hold for 30 minutes now. Completely unfair that I have to spend my time trying to figure out where points are sitting that are rightfully mine.
