In XXXX I ran into a hardship and SPS modified my loan. I paid the modified payment until the pandemic hit in XXXX, XXXX. I called and asked for assistance. I received a lowered payment of {$380.00} for 3 months. I then sent in bank statements and proof I was receiving unemployment ( I am in Florida, unemployment caps at {$270.00} week ). I sent in my bank statements showing the deposits from unemployment and my unemployment paperwork. I then received an offer for a repayment plan with payments of {$3400.00}. I was only receiving a total of XXXX XXXX monthly and there is no way I could pay the amount they were asking for. I then sent in an application for a modification and was told I could not get a modification because I refused an earlier offer. The only offer I ever refused was the repayment plan and it is because I could not afford it. I feel as though this is unfair. I defaulted only because of the pandemic and I would like assistance as everything was out of my control. Now, I have been through a pandemic, lost my job and now am at risk of losing my home.
