I have received multiple calls from Citi Cards or their authorized representatives regarding a credit card that they indicate I defaulted on over 11 years ago. I don't know anything about this debt nor do I have any intent of paying it. I want them to stop calling me. Even though I have repeatedly asked to be removed from their calling list, they continue to call. Today they threatened legal action and to garnish my wages. They called from XXXX XXXX XXXX x XXXX. She said her name was XXXX and she indicated she worked for XXXX XXXX XXXX. She told me that she had already filed to garnish my wages. This is NOT true. Nothing has been filed and even if this were my debt it is far past the statute of limitations in the state of Iowa ( see Iowa code 614.1.4 ). Before XXXX reached me today she called my sister on my sister 's phone and told her that I was going to be sued for bad debt. She told my sister that this was my FINAL notice and that my sister better help get it resolved. Making these false claims and threats to my family is harassment and it is my understanding that it is against the law.
