After closing the personal checking account, Chase Bank failed to honor its written statement to remit {$380.00} to my address of record. In a letter dated XXXX XX/XX/2021, Chase Bank claimed to have mailed a cashier 's check on XXXX XX/XX/2021. I called Chase Bank on XXXX XX/XX/2021 after waiting more than 10 business days and no one from Chase provided any information or updates. After insisting upon getting information, Chase Banking representatives claimed that my calls were abusive and blocked all of them. I later discovered that the toll free number to which Chase had directed my calls was not the direct line to its Executive Office, but another number to its investigative arm of its Fraud Department. All the customer service agents to whom I directed inquiries about the check work as investigators within the Chase Fraud Department and have no direct connection to Chase Executive Office. The Chase Fraud Department has opened its own internal investigation, has used inaccurate personal information it gained from old credit reports after using XXXX to track a person. The Fraud Department set up the toll free line not to resolve the check refund issue, but to gather information to find inconsistencies in my claims. Chase Bank representatives interact with me harshly by acting like this situation has become part of some criminal investigation because I am an XXXX XXXX woman. Therefore, Chase Bank has zero intention on refunding the {$380.00} from the account it closed. Though Chase may insist it reserve the right to close accounts for any and no reason, I have the right to demand accountability. The bank has zero intentions of refunding the money
