I requested Ohio Revised Code SCRA benefits two years ago. The accounts were removed from my credit report so I assumed they honored my request. The week of XX/XX/XXXX I received a call from Portfolio Recovery Services attempting to collect the debt. I contacted XXXX XXXX to inquire about the debt and was told my SCRA request was incomplete and they would send me a letter requesting missing documentation. I received two letters. One letter stated that my account was sold to a third party and I needed to contact them. The other stated that I was ineligible because the account was opened on XX/XX/XXXX and I enlisted in XXXX. I am a resident of Ohio Note that Ohio extends the 6 % interest cap on all debts, not just those incurred prior to XXXX XXXX. I have attached documentation of the revised code and the letters sent to me from XXXX XXXX denying the benefits. I do not have the total amounts owed on the card however I have have both case numbers.
