I received a check from Consumer Financial Protection Bureau in the amount of {$770.00} ( Tracking # XXXX ) and deposited it by way of mobile deposit into my USAA checking account. The check was accepted for deposit and funds were made available to me, as I expected. On XX/XX/2021 I logged into my USAA account to see a balance of negative {$770.00}. USAA returned the check I deposited and told me that " XXXX XXXX was not a business ''. I explained to several USAA members that XXXX XXXX is the business involved with the lawsuit payments not the company issuing the check. I was told to " Refer to Maker '', at which time I called the Payment Administrator at CFPB and explained what is happening. I was informed by the administrator that USAA received payment for the check on the XXXX of XXXX, XXXX. I have not heard from USAA OR CFPB regarding this. As of today my account is in overdraft for the check issued by Consumer Financial Protection. The irony of this is that CFPB is supposed to help consumers against issues like this, however, I called on XX/XX/2021 and was told someone would be reviewing my issue.
