I'm trying to work out a short pay offer on my loan with the " mortgage owner '' and the mortgage servicer will not supply me with the name and contact information of the " mortgage owner. The servicing company send me the original note when I ask for the information and they know that the original note holder filed bankruptcy over 20 years ago and is no longer a company. All of the mortgages were bought out by investors but the servicing company that services my loan will not give me the correct information. However, when I apply for mortgage assistance through them they have to contact the investor to get this approved so therefore that tells me they know exactly who holds the lien.
