I opened a new credit card account with CITI bank and used it immediately. I received the first bill for {$4100.00} on XX/XX/XXXX and paid it that day with an withdrawal from my XXXX XXXX Account. XXXX verification from XXXX XXXX is attached ) I realized that while the funds went CITI I had made an error with the account number and those funds must have been credited elsewhere. When I realized my error, I called customer service and notified them of the problem and then sent a second check for {$4100.00} on XX/XX/XXXX still before the due date. I was asked to send verification from my bank that the first payment was sent and received and that CITI would credit my account. On XX/XX/XXXX I sent the attached letter via email and assumed that the issue had been resolved. I have spent HOURS with customer service offshore trying to resolve this issue. I was given email addresses, faxes and a USA address where I sent this information. I have complied in every case. While I acknowledge the error of the incorrect account number, I am unable to speak with any individual who can help me. CITI bank no longer has retail banks where I can work with a person. The bank website says that there is no dispute and they have reversed the credit. I now owe them {$5100.00}. I am unable to handle this through their customer service people as we cover the same territory again and again and again.
