I took out a Private school loan with My Rich Uncle ( aka 'XXXX XXXX ' ) back in XXXX. At that time I was at the University of XXXX at XXXX ( XXXX ). Please note this school has changed its name to the University of XXXX XXXX XXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) in XXXX. In XXXX I transferred to the University of TXXXX XXXX ( XXXX ) where I am presently enrolled. A few years ago, I noticed that American Education Services ( AES ) the loan servicer erroneously reported to all the credit bureaus that this student had begun making repayments on this private loan and then stopped. This resulted in AES issuing another false report to all the credit bureaus that this student had DEFAULTED on his loan payments and as a result, he has missed several payment deadlines. This is the crux of the problem because when you review the Credit Report ( CR ) of this student one will see that all of his student loans, both private and federal have been placed in deferment until graduation on XX/XX/XXXX. Interestingly, AES is the only servicer who has engaged in this type of unprofessional conduct. When I brought this to their attention a few months ago, they sent me a deferment form to fill out and return with a copy of school 'Enrollment Verification ' ( EV ) which was done about a month ago. Then two days after receiving the completed deferment form and EV -- -they issued a letter of denial stating among other things that I no longer qualify for deferment even though I have never left school and still in school. This 'Dirty ' tactic of reporting me as being in default is negatively affecting my CR and this reporting of false information needs to STOP.
