Citi Applied for balance transfer card with 0 % APR Received congratulations email that my new card with a {$300.00} credit limit and 29 % XXXX was on the way Called, explained that this was not what I applied for and wanted to cancel account Agent said she could not cancel accouint, only way to cancel account was after I received the card, then I could cancel online Card arrived with a {$2000.00} limit and 0 % APR for 18 months I tried to use this card and was denied, '' Account Restricted '' Called, asked for supervisor who told me I had cancelled this account. I explained that I had tried to cancel a card with a {$300.00} credit limit, not this card, and my cancellation was denied .. She said she would try to get the card re-instated. Received a letter saying card was reinstated Received a letter saying that my card reinstatement was being considered and would have a 27 % APR on balance transfers Called, asked for supervisor. Explained that I wanted to file a complaint, asked if they were regulated by CFPB. She said they were regulated by XXXX. I asked for her CFPB number and she had no idea what I was talking about. Asked for her supervisor. Spoke to someone who actually seemed to know what he was doing and asked that all inquiries and transactions would be deleted from all credit channels. He agreed. Overall, other than my last call, everyone I spoke to at the Customer Service level were untrained, uninformed, unaware of Federal Regulations and practices. All-in-all, a frustrating experience due to lack of knowledge on Citis end.
